Coca-Cola and Bottlers to Settle Lawsuit |

In February 2006, 56 bottlers brought a lawsuit against the Coca-Cola Company and the largest bottler: Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE). The bottlers charged the Coca-Cola Company and CCE for violating the 1994 distribution agreement for Powerade. Coca-Cola and CCE began deliverying Powerade directly to Wal*Mart's Warehouses to better compete against Pepsi's Gatorade. The 1994 agreement called for distribution to the individual stores and not the warehouses. This week, one year after the lawsuit, the Coca-Cola Company has reached an agreement with most of the bottlers to settle the dispute out of court.
